Brothers Market to Close

All items except sushi and newspapers are 30 percent off.

Dobbs Ferry's Asian supermarket will close in a week, said owner Jimmy Wang. Though he hasn't set a specific date on which the store will officially shut its doors, he thinks it will be sometime next week.

"We'll close when everything in the store has been sold," he said.

Until that happens, all products—with the exception of sushi and newspapers—have been marked down by 30 percent.

Wang said business has been slow during the last few years and that the "rent and taxes are too high."

The owner of the complex that houses Brothers, Off Broadway Restaurant and G&L Deli, has been negotiating with Walgreens to rent the space as a commercial pharmacy.

That application is currently being reviewed by the village planning and zoning boards.

Despite the high rents and taxes, Wang hopes to relocate somewhere close by.

"I love my customers in Dobbs Ferry," he said.
