Erratic Driver Arrested for DWI

A 47-year-old a Dobbs Ferry resident was charged with misdemeanor counts of drunk driving and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.

Dobbs Ferry Police received a complaint about an erratic driver around 3 a.m. on March 30 near Ogden Avenue in Dobbs Ferry.

A witness pointed out a car that had been driving erratically, but was now parked in a lot at 200 Beacon Hill Drive. According to police, the car was allegedly running with its keys in the ignition. The 47-year-old driver was accused of having blood shot eyes, slurred speech and smelling of alcohol.

Police said that the driver allegedly admitted to drinking alcohol, failed field sobriety tests and refused a breath test. The Dobbs Ferry resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, as well as aggrevated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, both misdemeanors.

He was released on $500 bail and will appear in court on April 11.
