Police: Briarcliff Resident Accused of Passing Bad Check for Parking Fines

Police report a Briarcliff resident—already charged with burglary in Yorktown—allegedly issued a bad check to cover parking fines.

Tony McFadden, 49, of Briarcliff Manor was charged with trying to pass a bad check to pay for Dobbs Ferry parking tickets that—in total—amounted to $530, police said.

According to police, he tried to submit the check on Jan. 6, and officials from Dobbs Ferry Village Court tried to track him down between the 6th and 30th of that month.

On Feb. 9, McFadden was arrested by Dobbs Ferry police and arraigned for issuing a bad check, a B-misdemeanor crime.

Police believe McFadden was remanded back to the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla, where he was being held after allegedly burgling his ex-girlfriend's Yorktown home earlier this week.

Police do not know how many parking tickets McFadden had accrued or over how long a span of time, "but I do believe he is a former resident," said Sgt. Martin Coster.
