Summer Hoedown a Family Affair in Dobbs Ferry
Greetings from Anywhere and South County play a rousing Waterfront concert that has children frolicking on the lawn.
More than 100 people gathered in Waterfront Park late Saturday afternoon to hear hometown bands Greetings from Anywhere and South County.
A few people even played along on their own instruments from the lawn.
Greetings from Anywhere infuses its twangy roots rock with the resonance of a classically-trained string section, including Stephen Tjaden on cello and Liz Pierson Mackanesi on fiddle.

GFA has been playing in festivals and coffee houses throughout the Hudson Valley since they got together in 2007. "(We) wanted to continue our streak of playing a hometown show on the beautiful waterfront and conceived the idea of a party for our friends, family and fans," said drummer Doug Schneider. He said he hopes it's the first of many summer hoedowns.
