The Curriculum Expands at Eileen Fisher Leadership Institute

Plus a book reading and signing event will take place Friday.

The Eileen Fisher Leadership Institute in Irvington will introduce an advanced leadership program this summer for young women who have previously completed its basic leadership program.

The new ‘Leading for Impact” course has workshops and and field trips and includes a “Deep Dive” project for attendees involving interaction with local communities. It runs from July 30 through August 17 with a retreat on July 30-August 1. The fee of $1200 includes a two-night retreat accommodation.

The twelve-day “Activating Leadership” basic course is now in its third year. It combines confidence building and skill development workshops with visits to successful businesswomen. To be eligible, candidates need to be entering grades 10 to 12 in September, 2012. The course will be conducted twice this summer—on July 16-27 with a weekend retreat in Ossining on July 21-22 and on August 6-17 with a weekend retreat in Ossining on August 11-12. The course enrollment cost of $900 includes one overnight accommodation.

"We encourage young women to find their passion in order to cultivate careers as they grow and transform," program director Antoinette Klatzky explained.

"The cost of the program should not be a deterrent to interested and committed candidates," Klatzky said. "Financial aid is available." (Over the last two years, one-half of the girls participating have received some form of financial aid.)

Attendees need to be able to travel daily to Irvington; overnight accommodations are not provided except for the retreat nights.

Klatzky said that additional programs are in the planning stage and at least one will be intended for women attending college. A fellowship program is also being established.

Applications are now being accepted for the summer 2012 courses. Rolling deadlines: April 6 or May 4, 2012.

The courses will be conducted at the Eileen Fisher headquarters at 2 Bridge Street in Irvington, NY. For enrollment information, e-mail efli@eileenfisherleadershipinstitute.com or call 914-487-3354.
