Mercy women's hoops

We thank the Mercy College Sports Information Department for the below submissions:

The Mercy College women's basketball team fell at C.W. Post tonight (Feb. 8), 81-59. Senior forward Jasmine Williams recorded her first double-double in weeks and is now just seven points shy of reaching 1,000 for her career.

The next game will be this Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 5:30 p.m.

Mercy men's hoops

Below is the press release detailing Wednesday night's (Feb. 8) 98-67 loss for the Mercy College men's basketball squad to East Coast Conference-opponent C.W. Post.

College News from Dick Miller

Basketball: 

At Geneseo, Albie Skrelji (H '09) of Oneonta and Ryan Riefenhauser (DF '09) were on opposing sides, with the home team the winners, 67-57. In this one, Skreli had 6 points, 2 boards, and a steal, while Riefenhauser had a team high of 15 points, a game high of 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Oneonta now is 2-19:1-13, while Geneseo's record is 10-10:8-5.

In a 63-60 loss to guests Fredonia, Junghoon Roh (D.F.'08) had 6 points on 3 baskets, plus 2 boards, 2 assists, and 2 steals in the game. The record is now 7-14: 5-9.

Nick Nedwick (Irv.'09) had 12 ponts, 4 boards, 5 assists, and a steal in Eastern Connecticut's 71-52 at home with Plymouth State. The record: 12-4:8-2.

At Bard, Kevin Dahill (D.F.'09) had 1 rebound in the 91-52 win, as the Skidmore five's record stands at 13-6:7-3.

At Curry, Salve Regina won the game, 51-41, with Lisa Bucci (Irv.'10) having 2 assists and 1 steal in the win, with the record now 13-8:12-4.

We have found out from the Mercy Sports Information Department that Jasmine Williams is actually two points away from the special 1,000-point milestone.
