The New Westchester Symphony Orchestra (NewWSO) is a new community orchestra made up of amateur musicians from all over Westchester County and beyond. Most of the players played music until high school or college and then stopped to pursue family and/or career. Conducted by Benjamin Niemczyk, this non-audition group is ready to share their love of playing music with the community.
Membership and audienceship (!) is open to the public. The debut concert will feature works by Mozart, Bizet, Bach, Massenet, Grieg, Purcell and Elgar among others. The great price will allow people who might otherwise not be able to spend the time and effort going to NYC for a professional performance to enjoy a classical music performance right in their backyard.

More About ArtsWestchester
ArtsWestchester is a non-profit organization promoting the visual and performing arts in Westchester County. Formally the Westchester Arts Council, this organization remains a place for a community of visual and performings artsist to convene and create. In a historic brick-building on the corner of Martine Avenue and Mamaroneck Avenue known as the Arts Exchange, this space hosts local artists and provides them with work and rehearsal spaces.
ArtsWestchester hosts a rotating free slue of exhibits dubbed "Arts at the X" throughout the year. A detailed schedule is available online. True to its commitment to promoting arts and arts education, this organization lists the various exhibitions and performances in multiple venues throughout Westchester County.
The Arts Exchange fifth floor sprawls over 1,400-square-feet open for use as a rehearsal or conference space. This space is available by reservation daily between 8am and 11am for no charge. However, a deposit of $250 is required to use this space outside of business hours. Studio and office space is also available to rent. Check ArtsWestchester's website for current vacancies.
