Patch wants to make your life a little bit easier. Here are a few things to keep in mind today in Hastings, Irvington and Dobbs Ferry:

1. The Irvington Public Library is going prehistoric this afternoon. A "Make Your Own Fossil" activity is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The event is recommended for children ages four to eight.

2. Teens can take part in a gaming tournament at the Greenburgh Public Library this evening. Prizes and a pizza dinner are on tap. Get the details here.

3. Westchester attorney Susan Parker has generated a discussion on her latest blog that recounts a dog park mishap. Parker, and commenters on the blog, have raised canine issues such as dog bites, off-leash and owner intervention. Read her post and join the discussion here.

4. The New York Powerball Wednesday jackpot has reached $400 million, according to a press release from the New York Lottery. That's almost as high as the record $590.5 million winning ticket purchased in Florida this past May. Have you purchased a ticket—or 10—yet?

5. Tuesday's weather promises to be on the cooler side, with temperatures hovering in the high-70s, but not expected to break 80. The morning's sunny skies will likely be replaced with afternoon and evening showers.
