Patch wants to make your life a little bit easier. Here are a few things to keep in mind today in the Rivertowns:

1. Dobbs Ferry Recreation Superintendent Matt Arone reminds residents: "As the village tries to do each summer, Dobbs Ferry has arranged for the Gould Park pool to be open some extra days for pool members this upcoming week. Friday, September 6th, Saturday, September 7th and Sunday, September 8th the Gould Park pool will be open from 12 noon-7pm. You must be a 2013 member of the pools to enter. Please call the pool office at 693-5505 if you have any questions. Also, the Memorial Park wading pool will be open Friday the 6th and Saturday the 7th from 12 noon-6pm. The pools regularly close the day after Labor Day, but the recreation and parks department try to add a few bonus swim days each summer whenever possible."

2. With school in session, Irvington Farmers Market management reminded locals in its latest newsletter to check out the "plenty of lunchbox fixins' available at today's market—3:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Main Street School parking lot. Among the items available are chicken salad sandwiches, Stone Barns hot dogs, sweet potato brownies and more.

3. Wednesday's skies are expected to be clear and sunny with no chance of rain.

4. Long Island 23-Year-Old Dies from Gunshot to Head in Tarrytown was one of the most read stories in the region yesterday.
