Browse the nuts and bolts of local happenings with our daily local dispatch.

Patch wants to make your life a little bit easier. Here are a few things to keep in mind today in the Rivertowns:

1. Flag football for youths, a storybook art program and more fall offerings are now accepting registrations in Hastings. Browse a list of offerings and sign up here.

2. The Dobbs Ferry Union Free School District will be discussing its safety plan, among other items, at tonight's Board of Education meeting. View the safety plan draft here.

3. Tuesday's weather: scattered thunderstorms, with a high of 78. The UV index is dropping from High to Moderate, so sunblock isn't imperative.

4. The new Dobbs Ferry Walgreen has opened on Ashford Avenue. Have you stopped in yet?

5. The Greenburgh Town Board is looking to pass a resolution tomorrow asking for Westchester County to donate property to the Town that would be developed as affordable senior housing for seniors. Supervisor Paul Feiner elaborates here.
