Renowned columnist and author to share “Lessons from the Corner Office: Qualities of Effective Leadership”
The School of Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) at Manhattanville College will host a networking reception and special program featuring Adam Bryant,The New York Times “Corner Office” columnist, on Monday, Nov. 18, from 5:30-7:00 pm. The event will be held at Manhattanville’s historic Reid Castle in Purchase, NY, attracting members of the Manhattanville community, including alumni, students, and faculty, as well as the Westchester and Fairfield business communities.
In addition to his work at The New York Times, Bryant is the best-selling author of The Corner Office: Indispensable and Unexpected Lessons from CEOs on How to Lead and Succeed. His next book, titled Quick and Nimble: Lessons from Leading CEOs on How to Create a Culture of Innovation, will be published in January 2014.
On Nov. 18, Bryant will present “Lessons from the Corner Office: Qualities of Effective Leadership.” Having interviewed hundreds of CEOs and business leaders, Bryant has identified qualities that set high-performers apart, and will share key lessons with the audience that will help speed the trajectory of their careers.
· Learn what top CEOs consider to be the secrets to effective leadership and what it takes to lead an organization— whether it’s a sports team, a nonprofit, a start-up or a multinational corporation.
· Bryant will share memorable stories and eye-opening insights from chief executives such as Steve Ballmer of Microsoft, Alan Mulally of Ford, Drew Gilpin Faust of Harvard, and Tony Hsieh of Zappos.
Dr. Anthony Davidson, dean of Manhattanville College’s School of Graduate and Professional Studies, noted, “This program is the first in a series of industry-focused events marking The School of Graduate and Professional Studies’ 20th anniversary year.” The “Insights into Leadership” series will offer speakers with a broad range of business expertise, presenting their views on local, national and global trends. These are scheduled to include presentations on global finance, sport business, marketing communications, and human resource management.
