Nicky, a young gray-and-white male, is a gentle giant with big gold eyes and a quiet, laid back personality. He loves to play and gets along with everyone, except dogs.
A polydactyl cat, Nicky has six toes on both paws. Polydactyl kitties are said to have been the favorites of Ernest Hemingway, who famously kept many of them. So today they are referred to as “Hemingway cats.” According to seafaring folklore, six-toed felines bring abundant good fortune.
But nevertheless, Nicky is unfortunately losing his temporary home at a small cat adoption center in Yonkers. Nicky has a food allergy and can only eat certain kinds of cat food. He's neutered and current on vaccinations.
To adopt lucky Nicky just in the nick of time, call the Yonkers Humane Society at 914-439-2415.
