Local Youth in Random Farms Kids' "Legally Blonde'

The Random Farms Kids' Theater will present "Legally Blonde" at The Tarrytown Music Hall, Jan. 26 through Feb. 3, 2013.

Eight young actors from the Rivertowns Patch coverage area will appear in the show, including:

  • Isabelle Knezevic, Dobbs Ferry
  • Beckett Morris, Dobbs Ferry
  • Casey Odesser, Hastings-on-Hudson
  • Muriel Ossip, Hastings-on-Hudson
  • Ben Milan-Polisar, Irvington
  • Ariana Perlson, Irvington
  • Jenna San Antonio, Irvington

"Legally Blonde," originally a blockbuster movie starring Reese Witherspoon, became a Broadway hit in 2007 after MTV aired a reality show competition seeking a new star to play Elle Woods, a Malibu sorority girl who follows her ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School.

The show was nominated for seven Tony Awards in 2008 and is currently running in successful touring productions around the globe.

More than 130 young people from the Random Farms Kids' Theater will take to the stage in four different casts that bring this smart, funny and energetic musical to life, while exploring themes of love, friendship, and achieving one's dreams.

"Legally Blonde is a singing, dancing, hairstyling, jump-roping, cheerleading, crime-stopping extravaganza.  Our performances feature amazing performers who have been working tirelessly to bring you this exciting, high-energy Broadway musical," said director Alexis Grausz of the Random Farms Kids' Theater.

The actors come from throughout the tri-state area and have a wealth of theater, film and television experience.

The performances are  1/26 @ 3 p.m. & 8 p.m., 1/27 @ 1 p.m. & 7 p.m., 2/1 @ 7 p.m., 2/2 @ 3 p.m. & 8:00 p.m. and  2/3 @ 1 p.m. The theater is located at 13 Main St. in Tarrytown, N.Y. Directions can be found at  www.tarrytownmusichall.org.

The letter does not seem to mention if they have personal experience as an educator or as a parentRead More with kids now, kids past years or kids future years in the Irvington School District. Sometimes the perspective is different if you have lived the experience with kids in the Irvington School District. I have three kids -- one graduate last year and is at Cornell University, one is grade nine and one is grade three. All three got great teachers, small class size and extra help or enrichment as needed. I think the arts programs can be expanded -- music, drama, fine arts (both in classes and electives plus stipends to pay teachers for clubs and after school activities). However, this is a school district that values having small class size and keeping strong all the academics core subjects required for graduation and college plus making a priority sports opportunities middle school through high schools at all levels and types of sports. If you are high achiever it works grades k-12; if you are a child with special education needs or learning issues needs or extra help needs it works too. The average student is the one who is often forgotten in Irvington School District since they just do their thing in school, after school activities and move from grade to grade uneventful but nothing that will be memorable at least in my experience.

When employers are offering less and less health insurance, more people are self insured orRead More uninsured and are restricted to buying policies as individuals. With the cost at over $ 1,500 per month for standard, full coverage for a family of 4, it is no wonder there are so many uninsured or partially insured ( emergency/hospital care only).
