“Moms In Training” is a new program to the Westchester/Hudson Valley’s Team In Training (TNT) campaign and will start in April 2014. “Moms In Training” is a flexible 8-week work-out program that will take place every Saturday morning at 9 am at various running trails and parks throughout Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange and Dutchess counties.

Participants will be training to run or walk a 5k or 10K in June 2014. Each participant will have a minimum fundraising commitment of only $500 with 100% of the proceeds going to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). LLS uses these funds to fund critical research in all blood cancer areas like Leukemia and Lymphoma and to provide support and advocacy. Today, nearly half of all cancer drugs newly approved by the FDA between 2000 and 2012 were first developed for blood cancer patients. In 1964 a child’s chance of surviving ALL the most common form of childhood leukemia was 3%. Today about 90% of children survive.

LLS is on the threshold of amazing breakthroughs. The money raised through our fundraising campaigns accelerates miraculous new treatments and healing therapies once thought impossible. Cures today. Not someday. That’s the goal.

The program’s schedule and commitment are designed for mothers with children of all ages. In addition, new moms have the option of working out with their baby and stroller.

Any mothers interested in getting into shape and meeting other mothers from around the area, all while raising money that will save lives, please contact Diana Rukaj at (914) 821-8991 or Diana.Rukaj@lls.org.
