Grab and Go Family Planner: I Think I Can...I Think I Can, Maple Sugaring and Puppets

Take the kids to the movies, learn maple sugaring techniques and enjoy a puppet show for charity

We "spring forward" this weekend and I hope I remember to change all of the clocks. Keep yourself busy and enjoy the extra hour of daylight later in the day with some neat activities in our area.

Where/When: Mark these dates in your calendar for a easy and reasonably priced outing! On Saturday, March 12 and Sunday, March 13 at 12 p.m. go to Greenburgh Multiplex Cinema, 320 Saw Mill River Road, Elmsford.

Why go: We haven't tried taking our toddlers to the movies yet, but this weekend, we may try this movie. Read the book before and take the kids to this updated classic! I think you can too!

Pricing: $3.50 per person, plus you will receive a concession coupon for a kids combo. Where/When: Reserve your tickets Irvington High School's show at Campus Theatre, 40 North Broadway in Irvington, on Saturday, March 12 at 7:30 p.m. or Sunday, March 13 at 2 p.m.

Why go: You love the music and still know all the words to some of the songs from this hit! Take the kids enjoy the show together and you'll all come home singing "Summer Nights." It features 75 high school students performing, a full student orchestra and the tech and set design is done by students too. Directed by Diana Selenow.

Pricing: Tickets $15 for adults and $8 for students/seniors/kids. Purchase at Say Cheese and Thank You at 76 Main Street in Irvington, at the door 1/2 hour before showtime or by calling 914-591-6645.

Where/When: Make plans for a night out with the family at Irvington Town Hall Theater, 85 Main Street, Irvington.

Why go: Presented by the Clocktower Players Adult Troupe, this show promises to entertain everyone. You know you sing the songs in the car and you'll love seeing this show live. Plus, enjoy the local Irvington restaurants before for lunch. Learn more here.

Pricing: $28 for adult, $20 for Senior/Student.

Where/When: Celebrate the end of winter on Sunday, March 13 at 1 p.m. -4 p.m. at Greenburgh Nature Center, 99 Dromore Road, Scarsdale.

Why go: An afternoon of family fun! Learn about Native American and Colonial-style sugaring sites, candy and ice cream making and enjoy live music. 

Pricing: For discounted rate, must register and pre-pay by Thursday, March 10. $4 for members and $8 for non-members in advance.  $6 for members, $10 for non-members.

A SONG AND PUPPETRY CONCERT

Where/When: Have fun and support a great Ferncliff Manor at LIFE: The Place To Be, 2 Lawrence Street in Ardsley on Sunday, March 13 at 3 p.m.

Why go: A good way to spend a Sunday afternoon- plus enjoy all LIFE has to offer before or after the show! Janice Buckner will give a song and puppetry show. Please RSVP to Gayle at 914-968-4854 ext. 254. 20% of CD sales will go to the children of Ferncliff Manor.

Pricing: $15 per adult/$10 per child (under 21) in advance. $18 per adult/$13 per child at the door. Children under 3 are free.
