Newest Rivertowns Priest to Bless Animals Sunday

Stop by Dobbs Ferry's Zion Episcopal Church this Sunday for a special service—and don't forget your pets!

Bring your animals to church this Sunday.

Mother Mary Grambsch will take over as priest of Dobbs Ferry's —and locals are welcomed to participate in her Blessing of the Animals ceremony Sunday at 10 a.m.

Take your dogs, cats, hamsters, parrots, and ferrets to the church's hillside garden on the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi.

"If you have a cheetah or giraffe, bring it—but, please, on a leash," said congregant Michael Sabatino.  "We would also love to have you join us as Mother Mary Grambsch celebrates her first Holy Eucharist as Priest-in-Charge at Zion."

Mother Mary comes to Dobbs Ferry with considerable experience.

She has served as a priest in various parts of NYC, where she learned and delivered parts of the service in American Sign Language and in Chinese for some communities. 

"We are told she has even done some skydiving," Sabatino said "Please come and meet her and us."

Mass begins at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 2 at on Cedar Street.
