Joey was so, so nice. He had a great smile, always came through for us when we had a car emergency, always waved when I drove by the shop -- honest and kind. Our hearts go out to his family who are in our thoughts and prayers.

From Soo Mentor: When I think of Joey, I think of the hard working mechanic that will stay up all hours of the night to finish up your vehicle - and he was busy all the time. We used to live on the same block as his shop. At any given time or day, you will see Joey at his shop working and talking to people. He always went above and beyond to help you, even if he didnt know you. A true testiment to why he was a volunteer firefighter. He loved life and having a great time no matter where he was, even at this shop on Broadway. Joey loved his family and friends and was always the life of the party. Last year he planned his birthday party and I had several conversations about the decorations and even the favors he would give out. He cared about even the smallest detail to have a great party for the people in his life. And there were so many people that I saw come by his shop on a daily basis just to talk to him. I always enjoyed talking to him because he was full of life and happiness. He had that amazing smile on his face all the time. He embraced my husband and I just as he did with everyone else in his life. He always invited us to parties or events. Whatever he had going on, he included us. He's the reason why we loved Dobbs Ferry and still do even though we don't live there.

Mentor continued: He was not just the fun loving, but a geniunely nice person who had the heart of gold and the integrity that is rare to find. He was always in search of happiness and a girl that he can make his wife. I know he would have made an amazing husband and father because he was an amazing friend. Anybody who knew Joey or even met him for a few minutes could not help but just love him.

Marcus Franklin Joey its been awhile since I saw you, but you were a great person. You always made everyone laugh. I remember the good times at Pace and the cool breaks we took playing pool and eating applebees all the time. Your father is great person. RIP my friend.

What a great job his parents did , I would say to myself whenever Joey and I parted Company. He was a smart and fair businessman ( a rarity ) , Always smiling , and Good natured. I love my village and could never really pin down the reason , quiet Water- front , easy access , until I heard the news , it was you Joey and people like You that make this place special , I will miss you , and never forget you, god bless Your parents, family and friends , a friend always, Tony Brea

My husband and I are heartbroken to hear about Joe's untimely death. We were customers of his automotive shop for several years. He was an honest businessman, a good mechanic, and above all, a supremely nice guy. Whenever I stopped by the shop he was extremely friendly and a pleasure to deal with. I will miss seeing his sweet smile. This is a great loss for his family and for Dobbs Ferry. RIP, Joe.
