What's Closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day?

Patch has your quick go-to guide for what's open and what's closed on Monday, Jan. 20.

This year, the observance of the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr., will be celebrated on Monday, Jan. 20.

According to the Office of Personnel Management, by federal law, it is a public holiday for federal employees—with the exception of those in the District of Columbia, Montgomery and Prince George's counties in Maryland, and Arlington and Fairfax counties and Arlington City in Virginia—where the Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday is celebrated concurrently with Inauguration Day.

As such, in Dobbs Ferry, Irvington and Hastings-on-Hudson post offices will be closed, there will be no residential mail delivery; and state, federal and many municipal government offices will be closed.
