Expect wind up to 50 mph and gusts up to 60 mph this morning, and watch for downed tree limbs and power lines, says the National Weather Service.
The NWS has issued a special weather statement about a line of heavy showers marching east that will bring heavy rain and high winds across Westchester.
There is also a Wind Advisory in effect until 2 p.m. The strong winds could prove dangerous for higher profile vehicles, according to the NWS, so drivers are encouraged to exercise extra caution while out on roadways.
Winds are expected to be sustained between 31 and 39 miles per hour during the advisory.
With the humidity at 93 percent, temperatures should reach an unseasonable 72 today.
It should be a nicer if changeable weekend: partly sunny and 66 tomorrow; sunny on Sunday but the NWS is predicting a high of just 48.
