Arts and music across a variety of mediums will come together at Hastings' Draper Park on September 7.

Folk, jazz, bluegrass and hip-hop are among the musical genres that will come together on Saturday, Sept. 7 for the 7th Annual Take Me to the River Music & Arts Festival.

"This 'boutique-style' event offers outside-the-box art installations and activities, showcases a wide selection of local eateries and promotes environmental awareness with Practically Green, an eco-expo of area green groups and businesses," according to a press release from arts organization 12MilesNorth, the festival's host.

This year, the 22 performers gracing the Lunar and Solar stages include Outernational, the HVBRIS Fire Dancers, Debo Band, Spuyten Duyvil and Black Violin.

"The multi-generational nature of this festival makes it a special event for the town. We give it that DIY flavor, so there really is something engaging for everybody, whether you come alone or bring the whole family," Director and Co-Founder Liz Sipes explained in a statement. "The Children's Area and many of the art installations are fully interactive, so there's tons of room for 'audience participation.' It's a celebration of the creativity of the entire community."

The performers, musicians, vendors and locals from around the region will convene at Draper Park in Hastings-on-Hudson Saturday, Sept. 7 from 12 to 7 p.m.

Festival co-organizer Barbara Prisament said she believes "this year's lineup is our best yet."

Tickets to the 7th Annual Take Me to the River Music & Arts Festival are $18 in advance, $25 at the door, $5 for youths ages 10 to 17, $10 for seniors and college students with ID and free for kids nine and under. Get more details here.
