A Preview of the Hudson Valley Clearwater Festival

Get your lawn chairs and coolers ready—Clearwater’s Great Hudson River Revival music and environmental festival returns to the Hudson Valley next weekend, June 18 and 19, at Croton Point Park in Croton-on-Hudson.

Music is the main event at the festival, and the legendary folk singer and activist Pete Seeger—who inspired the festival—headlines both days. There will be dozens and dozens of musicians playing on three stages throughout Saturday and Sunday. Whichever day, time, or stage you happen to catch, you’re bound to hear something amazing. Artists include Arlo Guthrie, Suzanne Vega, the Indigo Girls, the Drive-by Truckers, the Low Anthem, Dar Williams, Billy Bragg and  many others. 

Since the event falls on Father’s Day weekend, the theme of this year’s festival is “Generations,” so several father-child duos or groups will perform at the end of the day. Performances will include Pete Seeger and Tao Seeger; Arlo Guthrie and Sarah Lee Guthrie; Peter Yarrow and Bethany Yarrow; John Sebastian and Ben Sebastian, and others.

Other events include Green Living Expo exhibits, handmade arts and crafts, artisanal food and farm market, a food court, a marketplace with vendors selling fair-trade products, and information from various activist organizations from the area.
