'Bach Meets Bebop' Presented by RiverArts

Gary Smulyan, repeat winner of the Jazz Journalists Association Award for Baritone Saxophone and the Baritone Saxophonist of the Year from the Downbeat Jazz Critics Poll, plays a surprising, witty and ultimately moving bebop counterpoint to the classical baritone saxophone of Henk van Twillert, internationally renowned for his performance of the Bach Cello Suites.

Celebrated bassist Harvie S, composer, arranger, producer and US Ambassador of Jazz, forms a stellar trio with Gary and recording artist, educator, and National Endowment for the Arts award winning drummer Ron Vincent to complete the performance.
