Come Together...Irvington Talent Rocks

Irvington leads the way in educating community about new state law against bullying.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       In preparation for New York State’s "Dignity for All Students Act" which goes into effect July 1, 2012,  the Irvington Diversity Foundation, Inc. (IDF) presents "Come Together…Irvington Talent Rocks" on Saturday, April 21 at 7pm.  The first-of-its kind entertainment event will educate the community about the new law which mandates that all NYS teachers and staff receive proper training to address harassment and discrimination issues and requires the monitoring and reporting of any such incidents.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    “Come Together…Irvington Talent Rocks” will showcase local dancers, singers and musicians including the Broadway Training Center and Sleepy Hollow Performing Arts Center.  It will also feature performances, skits and testimonials by students, teachers, residents and administrators who have experienced harassment.  The benefit will help fund crucial programs such as teacher/staff training for conflict resolution and diversity awareness programs for Irvington students and the community.

“Come Together…Irvington Talent Rocks” will be held at the IHS Campus Theater located at 40 N. Broadway.  Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students and can be purchased at the Good Life Gourmet at 108 Main St.,   IrvingtonRocks.com,   or at the door.  For more information go to the IDF Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Irvington-Diversity-Foundation-INC-IDF/267582969981614?sk=wall
