Stephen Talasnik at Storm King
Artist Stephen Talasnik and Storm King Director David Collens lead an exclusive tour of Talasnik’s vast construction Stream: A Folded Drawing. This site-specific installation consists of 3,000 bamboo poles tied together to form a monumental yet intricate structure 12 feet high and 90 feet long. Following a boxed lunch, there will be a tram tour of the grounds featuring sculptures by Alexander Calder, Henry Moore, Louise Nevelson, and David Smith. Also on view are works by contemporary artists Magdalena Abakanowicz, Alice Aycock, Mark di Suvero, Robert Grosvenor, Maya Lin, and Ursula von Rydingsvard.
Prepaid registration required. Meet at Storm King at 10am. Carpools should meet in the KMA parking lot at 9am. In the event of rain, this tour will be rescheduled for Tuesday, July 19.
