The 6th Annual Take Me to the River Grassroots Music & Arts Festival

The arts organization 12milesnorth is proud to host our 6th annual Take Me To The River Grassroots Music & Arts Festival in Hastings-on-Hudson’s Draper Park.

The Take Me To The River Grassroots Music & Arts Festival combines nationally acclaimed folk, jazz, world, bluegrass, alternative and rock music with the intimate feeling of a backyard BBQ. The event also offers outside-the-box art activities and installations, showcases a wide selection of local eateries, and promotes environmental awareness with Practically Green, an eco-expo of area green groups and businesses.

Liz Sipes Liebeskind, director and co-founder says, “The multi-generational and interactive access built into this festival makes it one of the best annual events in Hastings. Families come out and spend the day together because there is something engaging for everybody. It really is a celebration of the whole community.”

Barbara Prisament, co-organizer, adds: "This year’s lineup of musicians is the best yet. There’s an incredible depth and breadth of musical styles. We feature artists who have played at major music events all over the world, including BONNAROO, CLEARWATER, FALCON RIDGE, GREY FOX BLUEGRASS, PHILLY FOLK, CARAMOOR and WORLD FEST. In addition to our main stage, our solar-powered second stage features a superb lineup of jazz, alternative, and rock bands from the region, as well as young, talented musicians from area middle and high schools.”

Located in Hastings-on-Hudson, the festival is a short train ride from NYC on MTA’s Hudson Line. There is free parking at the train station for those who wish to drive, and a free shuttle to the park, which is four blocks up Washington Avenue.

Bring your picnic blanket, extend the summer vibe and enjoy some amazing music and art!

Advance tickets can be purchased at www.12milesnorth.org for $15. Tickets at the gate are $20. Kids 10 –17 are $5. Kids under 9 are free. Seniors and College Students are $10 with ID.
