Willie Nelson Seeks Armadillo Missing from Capitol Theatre

Country singer Willie Nelson and The Capitol Theatre are searching for a woman allegedly caught on camera stealing the band’s unofficial mascot, a stuffed armadillo, from the sound desk stage at the Sept. 19 Capitol Theatre show.

Nelson & Family played two nights at The Cap as part of the theater’s official one-year anniversary celebration on Sept. 18 and 19. Unfortunately, Nelson left Port Chester disappointed that the stuffed band member, named Ol' Dillo, was missing.

Theater staff is taking the theft seriously and is determined to return the armadillo to Nelson and his band. 

"We continue to search through all the video footage (which is a laborious process), but we WILL identify the culprit and return Ol' Dillo to Willie Nelson's crew," The Capitol Theatre's General Manager Tom Bailey told Patch today. 

Nelson posted the theater’s security video which shows a woman with short dark hair milling on stage, pick up the stuffed armadillo and then walk away with it.

Someone stole Aaron's Armadillo from the sound desk backstage on Sept 19 at the Capital Theater (149 Westchester Ave, Port Chester, NY 10573) Did you go to the show? Did you work the show? Help us find the WOMAN in this video who stole him. 

The armadillo belongs to sound engineer Aaron Foye and is usually on his console at the left of the stage. He has been a member of the band for the last three years. Take a look at the screenshot of the woman taking the armadillo.

"If anybody knows where Ol' Dillo is, please return him to us ASAP, no questions asked," Bailey said.
