Your Weekend: Live Music, Circus Acts and Freedom Walk

Bring your picnic blanket to outdoor concerts, enjoy a circus at the library and participate in a parade commemorating events from the 18th century

I already took my vacations earlier this summer, so we're here this month and looking for things to do together as a family. Here are some top things happening in our area to check out this weekend.

Where/When: Downtown Briarcliff Manor on Thursday, August 4 from 5-8 p.m.

Why go: This month's theme is Artist Night. Come shop, listen to music and be part of the community. There will art demonstrations and displays of work by artists in different mediums and free food samples, too.

River Day

Why go: This is my pick for something a that isn't so close, but is a quick, 15-20 minute drive from this area. There will be opportunities to take the kayaks out, performances, children's programming and lots of other fun.

History buffs will enjoy this sixth annual event where you can walk back in time and take the same path that Continental Army Soldiers took in 1781 on the way to the Battle of Yorktown.
