Dobbs Ferry Walgreens 'Nearing Completion'

Finishing touches on the sidewalk and parking lot underway; interior setup is also beginning.

The Walgreens building taking shape on Ashford Avenue in Dobbs Ferry is "nearing completion," Mayor Hartley Connett shared in his latest newsletter.

Looking at the structure this week, it appears the sidewalk and adjacent parking lot are just about complete.

Inside, large containers and shelving can be seen.

Connett praised the building's design, saying the brick "really looks impressive" and "will help transform the village's business 'gateway' into an area we can all be more proud of; it will attract more visitors and shoppers to support all of the merchants in town..."

During the building's approval process, some residents objected to the project, but it was approved and replaced Three Brothers Market.

The addition of the large business, Connett added, "will help support the property tax base and help make Dobbs Ferry's financial future more sustainable."

Will you shop at Walgreens when it opens?
