Who’s Inspired You Lately?

We regularly love to post stories about individuals who have inspired others in one shape or form. These can be sports athletes, business leaders, young adults or regular folks like you & I. People that inspire us seem to be able to ignite a magical light in others, stirring both a call to action and a breadth of optimism. By their actions, they inspire us to perhaps take the first step towards reaching our own goals.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting GMA contributor Tory Johnson, who has inspired women to be greater than they think they can be in their careers and in life. Her own successes included tackling entrepreneurship and building two multi-million dollar businesses after a painful firing.  Most recently Tory lost more than 60lbs. in a year and authored the book “The Shift.” It was such a genuinely, great read that I finished easily over a weekend. Tory’s story was inspiring because she showed an honest journey towards her personal goal, showed her weaknesses and she proved that success is possible when you make up your mind that you really, really want something. You have to decide and then commit.

If you’re truly not happy with some aspect of your life – your business, your career, your productivity, your health – the thought of making all the changes necessary to alter situation can seem overwhelming. You’ll never finish… so what’s the point of even starting? Sometimes all it takes is picking one thing, one small thing and doing it. Success is rarely overnight……. Success is a series of small, incremental steps. So just pick one thing to do – one tangible, measurable, goal-oriented thing – and do it! While you can’t overcome every problem, you can accomplish one thing. Then, when you do, you’ll feel a lot better about tackling whatever is next!

4)      Setbacks are a reality; move forward quickly

5)      Acknowledge and celebrate success

I know from personal experience that it’s hard to leave comfort until you have some real pain. Sometimes, that pain ignites the fire for change which leads to unbelievable transformation and success.

Purpose comes from motivation and motivation from inspiration.
