in a game at Vermont on January 20th, fell to their hosts, 57-40, with Jordon Bronner of the visitors scoring 10 points, having 2 boards, and 3 assists, while hosting Albany on the 23rd, he had a team high of 14 points, 2 boards, and 1 steal in the 60-55 win. In a 62-31 rout at UMass-Lowell on the 26th, played the full 40 minutes of non-stop basketball, scored 5 points and 3 rebounds, 1 steal, and had 7 assists, with the team's record now 5-17:3-4.

Salve Regina, in a home game with Western New England, evened the record to 8-8 with their 49-34 win, as Lisa Bucci had 1 field goal in the contest. With Roger Williams as the guests on the 26th, she scored 3 points, had 3 boards, and 2 assist in the 69-57 win, with the record now 9-8:7-3.

Hosting New Hampshire on January 20th, the Vermont Catamounts topped their guests, 57-40. Sandro Carissimo scored 11 points, and had 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in the game. At Stony Brook on the 24th, he had 2 assists and 1 steal in the 67-64 loss, with the record now 11-9:9-1.

In a 62-46 loss at Tufts on January 25, the Bates Bobcats women's basketball saw the record drop to 7-10:0-4, as forward Allie Coppola of the visitors scored 8 points, had 3 boards, and 2 assists in the game.

Senior fencer Peter Cohen of Yale, in a meet at N.Y.U. on January 25th,out dueled his Violet opponent, as the Bulldogs prevailed, 14-13.

Hosting Bucknell on January 24th, Columbia topped the Bisons, 19-18, with Penn Gottfried of the Lions dropping his 125 pound bout, 13-9.

In a swim meet at Cortland on January 22nd, the Oswego women's swimming team bowed to the Red Dragons, 152-84, with Katie Flood of the visitors and her 200 Medley Relay team winning their race by more than 2 seconds, with their time of 1:57.24. She finished 3rd in the 200 Freestyle, clocked at 2:06.81, and was 2nd in the 100 Breaststroke, timed at 1:10.95. At Geneseo on the 25th, in the 172-107 loss, her 200 Medley Relay quartet finished 3rd, clocked at 1:55.06, while she won the 200 Breaststroke in 2:38.26, plus the 200 Breastroke, with a time of 2:38.25. Her 200 Freestlyle Relay foursome copped their race in 1:45.74.

At Wesleyan on January 25th, Connecticut College won over the Cardinals, 65-61, with Tara Gabelman of the Camels scoring 6 points, having 9 boards, 2 assists, and 1 steal, with the record now 11-6:3-1.

At Williams on January 22nd, the Amherst women's basketball team suffered its second loss of the season, 65-63, with Marley Giddins of the visitors having a tie for team high of 14 points, a tie for team rebounds at 8, and 1 steal in the game. At Trinity on the 25th, in the 78-67 win over the Ephs, she had 6 points, a team high of 8 boards,

1 assist, and 1 block, with the team's record now 16-2:4-1.

At home with St. Olaf on January 25th, Carleton College's mens swim team lost to their guests, 196-95. In the meet, Jesse Gourevitch and his 200 Medley Relay foursome finished 3rd, clocked at 1:48.38, he finished 2nd i the 100 Backstroke, with a time of 2:55.30, 4th in the 200 Breaststroke, in 2:23.84, and 13th in the 200 Individual Medley, in 2:09.04.

Craig Halpin played on defense for Fitchburg in their 3-1 win over Westfield State on January 23rd. At Framingham State on the 25th, in the 8-2 win, he scored his first goal of the season on a power play at 8:52 of the first period.

In a home meet on January 25th, Sarah Howe of Haverford finished 16th of 18 runners in the women's 3,000, clocked at 11:50.23, while Abby Flock of Johns Hopkins was 6th of 36 runners in the women's mile race, with a time of 5:16.42. Julian Saliani of Johns Hopkins was 10th of 45 runners in the men's 3,000, clocked at 8:39.90. The meet was non-scoring.

In the home victory over St. Peters, Brittni Lai of Marist had 6 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals in the 71-42 win, while at home with Niagara on the 25th, she had limited action in the 61-52 win over the Purple Eagles, with the record now

15-5:9-1.

At Yale on January 24th, Krista Lancione of Hackley and Franklin & Marshall's squash team, won her exhibition match over her Middlebury opponent, 11-6,11-4,16-12, and 12-10, while against a Williams player, she bowed 10-12,11-8,11-3, and 11-4. With her Bowdoin foe, she won her match 11-8,11-1,11-4.

Fencing against Northeastern at Vassar on January 25th,

the Haverford women's squash squad blanked the xxx, 9-0, with Sarah Madigan out dueling her foe, 12-10,11-9, and 12-10.

Hosting the Naval Academy on January 22nd, the Lehigh Mountain Hawks lost to the (15-3) Midshipmen, 73-61, with Lexi Martins scoring 5 points and having 4 boards in the game. At Lafayette on the 25th, in the 73-51 loss, she had 1 basket and 4 rebounds in the game, with the record now

9-10:2-6.

At the N.Y.U. Invitational at the Armory on Januuary 24th, Sarah Moore of Manhattan finished 14th in the pole vault, with a height of 3.00 meters. 

At Tufts on January 25th, the Wheaton College women's swim team lost to the Jumbos, 190-100, with Cara Morris of the Lyons' 400 Freestyle Relay team finishing xx, in 3:45.82, while she was 5th in the 200 Freestyle, in 2:08.84,

and was 2nd in the 50 Butterfly, clocked at 28.58. 

Brett Pastore and the Lehigh wrestling team traveled to Newberry College, S.C., where they faced six squads. In his match with Limestone, he lost 17-6(13-10),Anderson - lost, 6-0(18-12) ,King - lost  6-12(18-2) Belmont Abbey - lost 10-2(16-10).Coker -won 4-2(16-12). The Mountain Hawks were 2-4 in the meet.

Hosting Oswego on January 21st, the New Paltz Hawks topped the Lakers, 68-61, with guard Ashley Riefenhauser having 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and1 steal in the game.In a 62-41 loss at home with Geneseo, she had

1 layup and 2 steals, with the Hawks' record now 3-14:1-9

The Blue Angels swimming team of The College of New Rochelle outscored guests Cedar Crest on January 17th,

with Rita Saad of Irvington finishing 4th in the 200 Freestyle, with a time of 3:42.12, while she was also 4th in the 500 Freestyle, at 9:43.85. 

At home with Dickinson on January 22nd, Jon Salandra of Franklin & Marshall scored 10 points, had 6 rebounds, a game high of 7 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block in the 67-51 win, while hosting Haverford on the 25th, he had both a game and career high of 26 points, plus 11 boards, the 4th double-double of his collegiate career, plus 1 assist,  steals, and 1 block in the 67-51 win, with the record now 12-5:8-2.

At home with Oswego on January 25th, the Geneseo men's swim team won,157-132, with Andy Schunk of the Blue Knights finishing 3rd in the 100 Backstroke, in 58.87,

9th in the 100 Freestyle, clocked at 52.05, and 5th in the 100 Butterfly, at 56.00, while teammate Peter Malarczyk finishing3rd in th200 Butterfly, clocked at 2:11.29, and 6th in the 200 Freestyle, in 1:35.43.

At a home meet with Ohio State, Wayne State, St. Johns,

Yale, Notre Dame, and Northwestern on January 2th,

NYU's Audra Fox and Jesse Sherman competed - Fox on foil, and Sherman on epee . The Violets topped Wayne State,17-10, and lost to Ohio State,24-3, St.johns, 20-7, Yale, 14-13, Notre Dame, 19-8, and Northwestern,5-22. Fox led her school in wins,with 10 , against 8 losses.

In the opening track and field meet at Wesleyan on January 18th, Greg Tavarez of Hackley finished 10th of 14 runners in the men's 1,000, clocked at 2:55.20, while his 4x400 relay quartet were 4th, in 3:49.26. At the home  invitational on the 25th, he finished the in the 600, clocked at 1:29.54.

At Youngstown on January 24th, the Carnegie-Mellon men's track team competed ,with Victor Yan finishing 10th of 25 in the men's pole vault, at 13-01.50.
