Despite an outstanding performance by Katie Flood of Oswego, the Lakers lost a close meet at Potsdam on February 1st. Her 200 Medley Relay foursome won their race in 1:56.83, after which she captured the Breast Stroke in 1:10.24, then the 200 Breaststroke in 2:35.78, and in the 200 Individual Medley, she finished 2nd in 2:17.28, with the winner's clocking 2:16.83, in a very competitive event. The record is now 4-6. At home on February 1st, Wesleyan's Luca Ameri finished 5th of 31 runners in the men's 200, clocked at 23.84, while teammate Greg Tavarez finished 9th of 21 runners in the men's 800, with a time of 2:08.00, in the non-scoring meet. With Columbia as the hosts at the NY Armory on February 12st, the Penn track and field team participated in the meet. Gillian Berger was 4th in the women's long jump, with her best 5.53 meters, while she was 29th in the 200, clocked at 27.52. Teammate Ian Parnell was 29th in the men's 400, with a time of 52.21.

After being tied at halftime, 35-35, the New Hampshire Wildcats fell victim in the 2nd half and lost by a score of 68-60 to hosts Maine , with John Bronner of the visitors scoring 7 points, having 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal, with the record now at 5-15:3-4. Hosting Wentworth on January 29th, the Salve Regina Seahawks topped their guests,56-51, with Lisa Bucci having 2 rebounds in the win. The record: 10-9:6-4. In a 5-45 win at Albany on February 1st, Sandro Carissimo of Vermont had a game high of 17 and hit his 1,000th point of his college basketball career, plus having 6 boards and 2 assists, as the Catamounts' record rose to  14-9:81. With St. Joseph's as Maine as the home opposition on January 29th, Allie Coppola of Bates started her 2nd time this season, and scored 12 points, had a game high of 13 rebounds, had 4 assists, and 2 steals in the 71-64  win. In the 72-59 loss at Wesleyan on the 31st, she had 10 points, a game high of 14 boards, 3 assists, and 1 steal in the game. At Connecticut College on February 1st, the Bobcats lost to the hosting Camels, 64-56, with Coppola scoring 7 points, having 8 rebounds, and 2 assists, with the record now at 7-13:0-6, while Tara Gabelman of the host squad had 10 points, tied for the game high with 9 boards, plus 3 assists and 1 steal,with their record now 12-7:4-2. At Penn on January 27th, the Princeton men's squash team loss their squash competition, 7-2 , with sophomore Sam Ezraty of Hackley dropping his match, 3-2 (7-11,11-7)8-11,12-10,11-5. In his match at Trinity on the 29th, he lost 11-7,11,7, and then had to withdraw, as Princeton lost to the Bantams, 6-3. At home with Tufts on January 31st, Connecticut College lost to the Jumbos, with Tara Gableman scoring 4 points and having 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals in the 56-49 contest. The Bates Bobcats were the guests on February 1st, with Gableman scoring 10 points, having a team high of 9 reounds, plus 3 assists and 1 steal, as the record rose to 12-:4-2. At Wesleyan on January 28th, the Amherst Lady Jeffs topped the Cardinals, 72-49, with Marley Giddins scoring 9 points, having a game high of 10 rebounds, plus 1 block and 1 steal. In the 67-44 win over hosts Colby on the 31st,

she had 4 boards and 2 blocks on the night. At Bowdoin on February 1st, in the 65-57 win over the Polar Bears, she had a team high of 14 points, plus 8 boards and 1 block, with the record now 19-:6-1. In a conference invitational swim meet at St. Paul on January 31-February 1, the Carleton College team won the affair, with xxxx points. Jesse Gourevitch, in the 200 Individual Medley, was 7th with a time of 2:03.80, his quartet was 3rd in the 400 Medley Relay, clocked at 3:42.71, his 200 Medley Relay foursome was 4th, in 1:38.64,he finished 4th in the 100 Breaststroke, with a time of 1:07.88, he was16th in the 100 Backstroke, in 58.84, then was 16th in the 100 Freestyle, in 51.67, and. At Salem State on January 30th, Fitchburg's men's hockey team bowed to their hosts, with Craig Halpin assisting on the Falcons' loan goal, a 9:31 of the 3rd period. He played in the 4-2 win at home with Mass-Dartmouth on February 1st, with the record now a 8-10:5-6,At Brown on February 1st, the Cornell women's swimming team outscored their Ivy League rivals,166-134, with the Herlitz-Ferguson twins contributing to the victory through their diving skills. In the 3 meter competition, Manita was the winner, with 284.92 points, while sister Bianca was third, with 258.37 points. At 1 meter, Manita was again the victor, with 269.17 points, while Bianca was 2nd, with 234.7 points. In a 66-56 win over the guest Rider Broncos on January 29th, Brittni Lai of Marist had 1 layup and 1 steal in the game,. At Monmouth on February 1st, in the 65-40 win, she had 3 rebounds and 2 assists,with the record now 17-5 on the season. In squash play at Drexel on January 30th, the Haverford women's team were blanked by their hosts, 9-0, wherein Sarah Madigan lost her match 11-2,11-0,11-5. Hosting Boston College on February 1st, in the 7-2 loss, she dropped her contest, 11-9,11-4,11-9. The record is now 4-10.At home in the Eric Sollers fencing tourney with NYU, Hunter, Stevens, and Haverford, epee wielder Adam Mandel of The Masters School and Brandeis, won 11 bouts on the day with his outstanding performance. At Bucknell on January 29th, the Mountain Hawks of Lehigh lost to the Bisons, 82-68, with Lexi Martins scoring 4 points and having 2 assists in the game, while with Boston U. on February 1st, they won the game, 67-54, as she scored 5 points, had 4 boards, and 1 assist, with the record now 10-11:3-7. At the M.A.A.C. indoor championship on January 31st, Manhattan finished 5th with 80 points, as Sara Moore of the Jaspers was 6th in the pole vault with her best height of 10-04. At Springfield on Februry 1st , Freshman track runner, Alyza Ngboli of Hackley and Williams, placed 6th in the women's 200, clocked at 27.07, after which her Distance Medley Relay foursome won their race in 12:26.20, as the Ephs were first in the meet with 195 points In wrestling with Gannon College on January 31st, the Shippensburg squad lost, 25-9, including Brett Pastore, who dropped his 165 pound match, 9-6:6-13). At Mercyhurst on February 1st against Mercyhurst, he dropped his match, 16-0(0-25), as the team lost by a score of 45-0.  At Potsdam on January 31st, the New Paltz Hawks topped their hosts, 76-66, with Ashley Riefenhauser scoring 5 points and having 1 assist and 1 steal in the game. At Plattsburgh on February 1st, in the 83-54 loss, she had 2 foul points and 1 assist in the game, with the record now 4-15: 2-10. At the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship, held at The College of New Rochelle on January 26th, the hosting Blue Angels finished 3rd, with 60 Points, behind 2nd place St. Josephs of Brooklyn with 77 points, and winning St. Lawrence with 149. In her races, Sarah Saad of  Irvington and the host squad competed in four events, including the 200 Medley Relay, where her quartet finished 7th in 3:03.72, the 200 Freestyle, where she end up 8th in 3:37.97, the 500 Freestyle, where she was 7th in 10:02.60, and the 200 Freestyle, where she was 8th, clocked at 3:26.17. At home with St. Josephs on the 29th, the Blue Angels dropped a close meet, 102-98. This time her 200 Medley relay quartet finished 3rd,clocked at 2:5:5.02, and the 200 Freestyle relay foursome were also 3rd in 2:39.69.

In a game on January 28th at Gettysburg, Jon Salandra of Franklin and Marshall had 7 points and a game high of 13 boards in the 54-38 loss to the Bullets. At Swarthmore on February 1st, they topped the Garnets, 73-65, as Salandra

had 13 points, a team high of 7 rebounds, a game high of 7 assists, and 1 steal, with the record now 13-6:7-3. At the Bison Open at Bucknell on January 31st, the Johns Hopkins men's Distance Relay quartet set a school record by copping the event in10:9.38, with Julian Saliani of the Blue Jays the leadoff runner. At Boston College on February 1st, the N.Y.U. women's fencing team lost to their hosts,21-6, to Brown, 17-10, beat Haverford , 15-12, M.I.T 14-13, Hunter, 20-7, and then lost to Brandeis,20-7. Junior Audra Fox of the Violets achieved the best record in foil, 13-5, with teammate Jesse Sherman also seeing action in the meet. In a track meet at Tufts on February 1st, Carolyn Vielleux of Irvington and Bowdoin finished 19th in the women's 800, with a clocking of 2:39.71. The Polar Bears finished 3rd in the meet with 71 points.
