started and played in all 18 games, scored 16 goals,had 5 assists, scored 37 points, took 77 shots, with 41 on goal, and had a team high of 5 game winning scores.

Both  Brittni Lai and Lexi Martins, who were members of the Irvington High School 2013 N.Y. State girls championship team, made their collegiate debuts on November 8th. Lai and her Marist College Red Foxes teammates, hosted the Wildcats of Kentucky, ranked 7th in Division I basketball, and were on the short end of a 75-61 score. She played 22 minutes off the bench, during which time she had 2 field goals, went 4-5 at the foul line for a total of 8 points, had 1 rebound and 3 assists in the game. Martins and her Lehigh Mountain Hawks traveled to Niagara U., where they outplayed the host Purple Eagles, 93-73. She had 9 minutes of playing time, sank 1 foul attempt, had 6 rebounds, 3 turnovers, and 2 steals on the night. 

 

On November 3rd, the Mercy College men's soccer team shut out Roberts Wesleyan in the final game of the season,3-0. with back Jurica Bilc-Prck of Irvington contributing to the victory with an assist. The regular season's record was 11-3-4:5-2-3. In the ECC Semi-Final game at Long Island Post on November 6th, he started for the Mavericks in the 2-1 loss that meant the season had ended.

Senior Jordon Bronner of Sleepy Hollow and the U. of New Hampshire Wildcats' basketball five, opened the season on November 9th with a resounding 94-70 over the Suffolk Rams, with the former Iona Prep forward scoring 12 points, on 4-8 from the floor, 1-3 in treys, and 3-3 at the courtesy line. He also had 2 boards, 6 assists, 1 steal, and 2 turnovers in the game. 

In a 1-0 loss to Cal-Lutheran  on November 7th, in the SIAC Semi-final round,  the season ended for Rebeccah Bortz and the Chapman University's women's soccer team. In the game, the Dobbs Ferry junior forward had 2 shots, with one on goal. Her season's statistics included playing off the bench in all 21 games, scoring 3 goals and having 2 assists, and season-wide she had 23 shots. The Panthers' record was 10-10-1.

In a two overtime scoreless tie with Endicott, Claire Brooks of the Gordon Highlanders and her soccer team, lost to their rivals on penalty kicks, 3-1, and now await a possible further invitation to post-season play. The record on the season was 16-4-2:7-2-0.

Sandro Carissimo of Sleepy Hollow and the Vermont Catamounts' basketball team opened the season at  home with St. Joseph's of Philadelphia, and finished on the short end of a 94-70 score, with the Iona Prep alumnus having 10 points  on the night, the result of 4 field goals and 2 treys, plus having 1 rebound, 3 assists, 1 turnover, and 3 blocks, as he led his team in floor time with 36 minutes all told.

Sean Degnan of Springfield started at offensive right tackle in the Pride's  35-28 win over hosts R.P.I. on November 9th,with the record now 5-3:2-3.

It was a busy opening wrestling match for Sean Gottfried of Ardsley and Columbia on November 9th,

when he and the Lions grappled at the Michigan State Invitational. The 125 pound grappler lost to a Navy athlete in the opening round, 2-0, but then bounced back in the consolation round as he pinned a wrestler from Central Michigan in 2:43, then felled another one of his teammates, in 5:41. In the finale, he lost to a wrestler from Northern Illinois, 8-2

In a 162.5 to 120.6 loss to hosts St. Thomas on November 8th, Jesse Gourevitch of Ardsley and Carleton as his 200 Medley Relay quartet finished 3rd, in 1:40.77, while he was also 3rd in the 100 Backstroke, with a clocking of 57.78, finished 5th in the 200 Breaststroke, timed at 2:27.78, and his foursome was also 5th in the 200 Freestyle Relay, clocked at 1:36.92.


Craig Halpin of Irvington and his Fitchburg State hockey squad bowed to New England College at home on November 5th, 7-0, while hosting Franklin Pierce on November 7th, he scored the tying goal at 1:05 of the third period, after which the Falcons tallied thrice more to beat their guests, 4-2.

In the final game of the season, Bowdoin defeated Colby, 32-22, with Brian Glazewski of the Polar Bears having 3 solo and 6 assisting tackles, plus seeking the quarterback for 11 yards, as the season ended with a record of 3-5:3-5.

In a nip and tuck 50-52 loss at Whittier on November 9th, Josh Gorlick of Occidental College saw action in the game,with the current record now 4-4.

In a thrilling 24-23 win in overtime at home with Salisbury State, the Ithaca Bombers improved their record to 8-1. Steve Demoro started at tight end on offense, and free safety Skyler Griffenburg had 3 solo and 5 assistant tackles in the win.

In a swimming meet at Chicago on November 9th,

Tina Hinman of Hastings (The Masters School) and Washington of St. Louis, placed 2nd in the 1 meter diving competion, and 3rd in the 3 meter action. Her team bowed to the hosts, 157-139, and now has a record of 3-1.

Muhlenberg dominated Ursinus in an away game, 41-10, as Darnell Davis of Hackley had 1 tackling assist and 1 pass breakup in the game. The Mules' record is now 7-2:6-2.

In a dual swimming meet at Clarkson on November 9th, the Oswego women's team topped their hosts,

112-68. Katie Flood of the visitors won the 200 Individual Medley in the meet.

In a swim meet at home with Boston College on November 9th, the Herlitz-Ferguson twins of The Masters School and Cornell won the 1 meter diving event with 250.04 points, and then took the 3 meter dive, with 265.02 points.

In a home cross country race with fellow Poughkeepsie college Marist, on November 8th, Sarah King of Vassar finished 11th in the event of 19 runners, with a clocking of 20.40.Marist was first in the meet.

Sarah Madigan of Hastings and Haverford, opened the squash season on November 9th with a game at N.Y.U, in which her team won the day, 5-4, and she lost to her Violet opponent, 8-11,11-8,11-9,11-8.

In a home swim meet with The Coast Guard Academy on November 9th, Cara Morris of Wheaton finished 2nd in the 200 Freestyle, clocked at 2:04.52, while her 400 Freestyle Relay foursome won their race in 3:43.25.

In home fencing action on November 7th, the NYU Violets topped Drew, 22-5 and lost to Stevens 20-7.Jess Sherman of Irvington and the Violets went 3-0 in epee against Drew. They lost to Stevens, 20-7. 

The Geneseo State Blue Knights opened the swimming season with Fredonia on November 9th, and topped their guests,164-136, with sophomore Andy Schunk of Ardsley and freshman Peter Malarczyk of the same team competing. In the

200 Medley Relay, Schunk's foursome were the winners,with a time of 1:38.43, while he finished 2nd in the 200 Butterfly, clocked at 1:05.69. Malarczyk finished 2nd in the Butterfly, clocked at 2:12.42, while in the 100 Butterfly, Schunk was 2nd in 53.78 and Malarczyk was 6th, in 58.62. 

Nicole Riehm of The College of Mt. St. Vincent and her volleyball team ended their season on November 9th at home with a 3-0 loss to Mt. St. Mary's, with the Irvington graduate having 1 dig in the finale. The season's record was 8-18:6-3.

At Buffalo State on November 9th, the Colgate men's

swim team lost to their hosts,159-99, with Tavy Smith of Dobbs Ferry and the Red Raiders, and his 200 Medley Relay quartet finishing 3rd, clocked at 1:40.28, he was 5th in the 100 Breastroke, timed at 1:03.49, 3rd in the 200 Individual Medley, in 2:11.60, and his 200 Freestyle Relay foursome were 2nd, in 2:17.27.

In a 35-7 loss at Galladet in D.C., Robert Small of Anna Maria had 18 carries for 34 yards, plus 1 pass reception for 1 yard. The record is now 2-7.

At the E.C.A.C. cross country championship, held at Bristol, R.I. on November 9th, Joanne Mumbey of Johnson and Wales placed 89th to lead her team in the race, as the Hawks finished 24th of 47 teams entered with 749 points. Mumbey's clocking was 25:09.

In the season ending 1-0 win over guests Case-Western Reserve on November 9th, Ryan Pastore

of Rochester had 1 shot in the game. His season stats included starting 1 of 14 games and having 1 assist and 3 shots in the campaign. The Yellow Jackets' record was 13-2-2:5-1-1.

At the NESCAC cross country championship, the Haverford team finished 2nd in the 6k race, with Nora Howe ending up 60th of 106 runners, with a time of 26:02.40.

In the season ender at Dartmouth on November 9th,

Aimee Tanzel and her Cornell soccer team dropped their game to the Big Green of Dartmouth, 4-1, with the record 7-7-1:1-5-0. She played in 11 of the Big Red's 15 games, and had 2 shots during the season.

In a fencing meet at Vassar on November 10th, Diana Schoder of Ardsley and Haverford. competed on saber in a multi-college event. She finished
