"Escape to the Rivertowns" September 28th Irvington Festivities and Grand Skylight Celebration

Walk, Bike, Shop, Dine, Explore… Enjoy Irvington's unique architecture, history, river views and fall foliage with two daytime historical guided walking tours, drop-in sewing and knitting workshops at the Eileen Fisher Lab, exhibits, sidewalk shopping, art projects for kids (led by Art Academy of Westchester director, Vicente Saavedra and arts educator, Helen Elliott), and live JAZZ JAM with grammy-nominated guitarist Jay Azzolina (featuring drummer Richie Morales and organist Brian Charette); bring your instruments and sit in with the band!!!  Singers welcome (please bring sheet music so the musicians can accompany you).

Tour the majestic Tiffany Reading Room in Village Hall (85 Main St.); enjoy exhibits at the Irvington Library (12 S. Astor St.) and Irvington Historical Society (131 Main St.).    

Festivities culminate with the 8:00 pm "Best of" Film Series Season Kick-off Screening of "20 Feet From Stardom" and GRAND SKYLIGHT CELEBRATION with Special Champagne Toast to the newly restored 1902 Lord & Burnham Co. greenhouse and skylight at the Irvington Town Hall Theater!   All movie-goers are invited to a fabulous after-party at Red Hat on the River.  To order tickets for the film event, please visit:  http://irvingtontheater.com/node/485

Advanced ticket purchasing is recommended as this event may sell out; ticket-holders who present dining receipts dated 9/28 will be given vouchers for free admission to any film of the 2013-14 season.  

Your receipt for ANY purchase at any Irvington business serves as your 9/28 admission ticket to Matthiessen Park along the Hudson (usually only open to residents via permit).
