Tao Lin discusses “Kmart Realism,” a term applied to minimalist writers such as Frederick Barthelme, Ann Beattie, Joy Williams, Raymond Carver and Bobbie Ann Mason. Lin is the author of two novels, a novella, a short-story collection, and two poetry collections.
