The Tiffany Reading Room in Irvington’s Village Hall was decorated in 1902 by Louis Comfort Tiffany. Since 2010, the room has undergone a thorough process of conservation and renewal, and it will reopen to the public on Sunday, December 9, from 3:30 to 4:30. All are invited as we welcome back, for public use, a beautifully-designed space, featuring glowing “turtleback” lanterns, gleaming mosaics, and gilded quotations carved into heavy ceiling beams. The event is free of charge; local officials and members of the conservation committee will speak briefly.
