Frederick Kaufman on the Business of Food

"Bet the Farm" author, Frederick Kaufman returns to Curious-on-Hudson. Locavore or not, you'll be interested in learning how the worlds of finance and food intersect and what the outcomes are for those who "eat," i.e., all of us. Is there enough food to feed the world or not? Is the global food supply changing as a result of local food movements throughout the world, or not? And why are we able to be so fastidious about eating only vine-ripened tomatoes when so much of the world hungers for adequate food to get by another day? Bring your questions and let's have a real discussion about FOOD.

It might surprise you to know that Mr. Kaufman and our our local area legacy Washington Irving also intersect. As an added treat Mr. Kaufman will talk about food in the literature of Washington Irving. Before you delve into that pumpkin pie, find out how squash and other edibles connect to the ghost story of all times.
