Free musical theatre workshop!

Free musical theatre workshop for children ages 6-13. January 18th, 1:30 - 3:45 PM.


In this 2 hour free workshop sponsored by Laura Evans and Janice Noto Helmers of TAWK (Theater Adventure Workshop for Kids), children ages 6-12 will learn a few musical theater acting, singing, and dancing tips and tricks, while rehearsing a short scene from the play Peter Pan. Parents are invited to view their work at briefly at 3:30 PM when the workshop is completed. There will be fun and challenge for all involved! Register by emailing your child's name, age, and date of the workshop you are registering for to TAWKids@gmail.com

Laura Evans, a longtime resident of the Rivertowns is a music teacher and musical theatre director with 25 years of experience.  She has coached and taught a range of students in theatre, private, and public school settings. She has a Ph.D. in music from New York University and is a New York State certified teacher. She prides herself in drawing the best out of each and every student that she works with and helping them to shine. She is the mother of a 21-year-old son, cellist and psychology major at University of Miami and an 18-year-old daughter, music major at the University of Miami.


Janice Noto-Helmers, is a resident of Ossining and currently a substitute teacher. She has been an instructor for the Ossining School District, Jodi's Gym, Future Stars, Club Fit, and Katonah Art Center for many years. Her theatre background (brought up in the family that produced the longest-running musical in history, The Fantasticks), made her a perfect fit for these workshops. In addition, Janice creates graphic designs for a variety of businesses. She has also been an educational/textbook designer for major publishers during her long and successful career. She is a wife and mother to a 21 year-old son at Baruch college and 10 year-old daughter in the Ossining School District.
