What's In Your Lipstick? Fascinating Community Program

Our skin absorbs whatever we put on it -- from shampoos to deodorants to perfumes, makeup and nail polish --
and the hundreds of synthetic chemical ingredients in these products can pose real health risks.  The FDA does
not require manufacturers to submit their products for third-party testing before they are permitted on
the market and every day many of us are exposing ourselves to unnecessary health problems -- from allergic
reaction to some really severe illnesses.  So, how can we stay safe when using personal products? The answer will be given this Thursday by environmental expert Patti Wood, the founder of Grassroots Environmental Education.  Learn and sample safe personal products (and there are many!).
There is ample parking space and everyone is invited to bring a brown bag lunch. The League of Women Voters of the Rivertowns  will provide
beverages and cookies.
