Local GoFundMe Campaign: Help Irvington Dancer Reach Russian Dream

Nicole Zadra, of Irvington, has been offered a traineeship to one of the most prestigious ballet academies in the world – but she can’t afford to go.

Fifteen months ago, Zadra created a GoFundMe page to help her reach her dream of dancing at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow. Here’s part of her post:

The Bolshoi Academy trains the best ballet dancers in the world. To be invited is a huge honor and dream come true for me. There is only one problem. In order to go I need to raise money. The Academy cannot provide scholarships to International students and the tuition is 1300.00 Euros a month (approx $1630.00 USD) I don't have a dad, and my mom cannot afford the tuition so I am asking for your help.

In the last 15 months, Zadra has raised $10,575 toward her $25,000 goal to pay tuition to the Bolshoi Academy. To support her cause, click through in the window above. A total of 62 people have donated so far, according to Zadra's GoFundMe page.
