It's time for the Westchester County Department of Health's annual tap water taste test.

Greenburgh and nine other waterworks will compete for bragging rights as Westchester’s best water on Tuesday.

It's the annual blind taste test, hosted by the Westchester County Health Department as part of National Drinking Water Week.

It will take place in front of the Michaelian Office Building, 148 Martine Ave., White Plains, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. If it rains, the taste test will be postponed to May 7.

“It’s not easy to choose just one because they all taste good,” said County Executive Robert P. Astorino. “Make sure to work up a thirst before you stop by.”

In addition to Greenburgh Consolidated Water District #1, the participating water suppliers in this year’s competition are: Bedford Consolidated Water District, United Water New Rochelle, Village of Elmsford, Village of Ossining, City of Peekskill, Village of Scarsdale, City of Yonkers, City of White Plains and the defending 2013 champion, the City of Mount Vernon.

The health department will announce the winner—and reveal which water was which—via Twitter @wchealthdept and on Facebook.com/wchealthdept.

The Westchester winner will advance to the regional competition. The winners of the regional competitions statewide will ultimately compete at the New York State Fair.
