Looking For a Job?

Interns for the Town of Greenburgh have started an exciting new initiative that we hope you'll take advantage of.

Written by David Schuman.

Hello and good afternoon, remarkable residents of the Rivertowns.  My name is David Schuman, an intern for the Town of Greenburgh, and I just wanted to take some time to tell you about an exciting project I and the other interns have started.

We have started a blog with the sole purpose of helping YOU find local employment. Times are tough in this economy, and getting a job is not always easy.  Our blog, located atgreenburghjobs.blogspot.com, serves two purposes.  The first is to inform you of jobs out there that you probably would never have known were available.  The second is to put all the openings in one central location for easy access.

With over 60 jobs posted already, the momentum is really picking up.  Originally intended to provide summer employment for students, the scope of what we are doing expanded once we found that many stores are hiring management positions.  Applying is simple as well; all it usually takes is a resume and a quick online application.

We also thought it would be helpful to hand out some tips about how to go about getting jobs so one of our recent posts is chock-full of advice on applying and interviewing. While certain steps may seem obvious at the outset, you would be surprised at how a simple follow-up call or a little outside research to ask intelligent questions at an interview can go a long way.  And never underestimate what a strong handshake can do for you!

Our names are David Schuman, Josh Ringel, Jon Rood and Zach Bergenfeld.  Please visit us at greenburghjobs.blogspot.com or email us at greenburghny1@gmail.com.  Give us a shout.

Remember, the goal of our blog is to get you out of the bleak relationship that you have with daytime television, and nudge you into the warm embrace of that old friend, steady employment.  Best of luck.
