Visiting Hours are Today for Lloyd Westlake

Lloyd E. Westlake, 96 of Dobbs Ferry died on October 1, 2013. Born and raised in Dobbs Ferry, he was the son of the late John and Emily Westlake. Lloyd served in the United States Army during WW II as a Chaplin's Assistant. During the war, Lloyd helped liberate many of the concentration camps. After returning home, he worked as a bookbinder for Tapley Company in Moonachie, NJ for many years. 

Lloyd was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Dobbs Ferry. He was a kind soul and always helped people in need. Lloyd founded and ran the Sacred Heart Food for the Hungry Pantry for 29 years. He loved to go sailing on the Hudson River and had a love for animals especially dogs. Lloyd also had a passion for drawing. 

Lloyd is survived by his wife Alice, son Warren (Linda) and daughter Sharon (Edward), grandchildren Elizabeth, Joshua and Emily and great grandchildren Michael, Joseph, Timothy and Emma.

Mass of the Resurrection 9:30am Friday Church of the Sacred Heart, Dobbs Ferry. Visiting 2-4 and 7-9pm Thursday Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Sacred Heart Food for the Hungry Pantry.
