If you reside in the villages you can only use the Veteran town pool if you attend as a guest of a resident of unincorporated Greenburgh. In the 1970s, after the pool was acquired by the town, the New York State Legislature approved a law that only applies to Greenburgh restricting the pool to residents of unincorporated Greenburgh. The law is known as the Finneran law.  In recent years Hastings and Dobbs Ferry (which have their own pools) have offered village residents a limited number of permits to use their pool.

There are other options for village residents.  The county has some pools and beaches open to anyone who resides in the county. The following may be of interest to you.
