From Ardsley resident Captain Robert H. Pouch, (NYNM, Ret.):

To the Editor:

We are writing to you about a school board candidate whom we know well; Robyne  Camp. Before we moved to Hudson House some twelve years ago, we lived next door to Robyne and her husband, Herb. They are great neighbors and community supporters.

Robyne was elected to the Irvington School Board three years ago and is now a candidate for re-election. We urge you to consider voting for her, and here are a few of numerous reasons why:

  • She pushed for changes and improvements in the school administration. This year, the district has had an interim superintendent, and in July, a new district superintendent will take office.
  • Robyne has worked diligently to tighten up system controls and accountability so that now our resources can be spent directly on educating our children.
  • She has kept us well informed on what has gone on within the district.

Going forward, now that the district is in better shape, Robyne tells us she plans to focus on academics by working closely with the new superintendent, whose school motto is “every student, every day”.

Our community relies heavily on civic volunteers to operate our local governmental services, and we respect all of those who serve in these important positions . The School Board election will be held on 15 May 2012 at the Main Street School . We hope you will give serious consideration to supporting Robyne Camp for another term on the Irvington School Board.

With our thanks and kind regards,

Robert Pouch
