MAYOR SWIDERSKI - POACHING IS ILLEGAL
Mayor Swiderski please note, killing deer is illegal in Hastings. What you term hunting/sub rosa hunting, is not hunting at all, it's called poaching Mayor. Hastings' immuno effort will bait deer in order to dart them in an effort to sterilize them, but what about when the immuno effort packs up and leaves town? Poachers plan to seize the opportunity to visit these former baiting stations, for what they hope will be easy pickings. Mayor's Swiderski's own "Greenburg Deer Report" makes clear this poaching has been on going and involves local Hastings police and fire members. The police and Mayor are, and have for decades been turning a blind eye to such poaching. One would think that the Mayor would have some concern to ensure that data collected from his immuno effort would not be compromised. What should be his concern is thankfully the concern of other residents. There will be some new, independent, "eyes" in town, equipped with night vision. Their priority will be not be the welfare of poachers, but of deer, Hastings residents and the integrity of the immuno effort. A picture speaks a thousand words.
Below please find a link, to Mayor Swiderski, in his own words, as he responds to concerns of poachers that deer meat will be dangerous for consumption post any immuno effort. The Mayor's response makes clear where his concern lies. Not with the welfare of children or residents, but with poachers. His answer should have been quite brief, in fact three words. "POACHING IS ILLEGAL."
