This is the sort of offer for which people usually have to travel to European opera houses! To see the entire in quick succession did occur at the actual Met this season, but you will recall that to see it in HD, it was spread over 2011 and 2012, not giving us the full impact it should have. Well, now we are privy to it within an 11-day span, and at our usual local haunts.
There is an added plus. Proud of its “Cutting-Edge” Lepage production, with its famed “Machine,” they have created a documentary about the making of this striking production that will air prior to the cycle.
Read about Robert Lepage, the "man behind the machine" that makes these productions come to life on operanews.com here.
