A 16-year-old Children’s Village student and resident was slapped with a class E felony criminal mischief charge, in the third degree. He is accused of ripping a telephone off the wall, as well as bathrooms fixtures from their mounts at the school on March 11.
Police were called around 1:10 p.m. to respond to the teen's alleged rampage, which reportedly started after he became upset that no one was answering the phone in the Minturn Cottage when he was placing a call.
Police said more than $250 in damage was done. The 16-year-old was released back to Children’s Village and had to return to court.
