Hastings Police: Stolen Bikes; Hunting Arrows Found

Vending machines knocked over at a local park and a bike worth more than $1,000 among the recent police reports.

Here's a look at some of the recent reports investigated by the Hastings-on-Hudson Police Department:

Bike Missing
A Lefurgy Avenue resident contacted police on the morning of August 26 and said her daughter's blue and white bicycle had been stolen from the backyard sometime between 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24 and 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25.

The caller told police she had yelled at a teenaged male early Sunday morning who was seen in her backyard, near where the bikes were kept. She said the male left the area shortly after.

Damaged Vending Machines
Police reported at 5:41 p.m. on August 26 that two vending machines had been knocked over and damaged at Zinsser Park. Police said the machines hadn't been successfully broken into.

Missing Mountain Bike
A Harvard Lane resident went into police headquarters at 6:27 p.m. on August 26 and reported a woman's Mongoose mountain bike, valued at more than $1,000, had been stolen between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. that day. 

Arrows Found
Police received two calls on the morning of August 28 from a Main Street pre-school reporting two hunting arrows found in the wooded area adjacent to a children's play area. Police brought the arrows to headquarters (see above photo).
