Police: Sign Stolen from Home, License Plates Nicked on Oak

  • A 47-year-old Dobbs Ferry resident said a brass sign, that was affixed to a stone wall in front of his home, was purloined sometime between Aug. 9 and Aug. 12. The sign, that bore his family's name and had to be unbolted, was valued at $200.
  • A 62-year-old resident of Shirley, NY reported on Aug. 12 that his Android Galaxy phone and iPad were taken from his PT Cruiser that was parked in front of 128 Main St. in Dobbs Ferry. The items were valued at $950. The theft is believed to have occurred between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.
  • A 51-year-old Putnam Valley woman said her front and rear license plates was stolen from her Honda Accord that was parked on the north side of Oak Street in Dobbs Ferry on Aug. 17.
  • A 49-year-old Dobbs Ferry man reported on Aug. 16 that an Apple iMac, valued at $600 was stolen from his office on Main Street in Dobbs Ferry. There were no signs of forced entry to the windows and doors of the office.
