Children's Village Teen Charged with Assault

Police said the 16-year-old girl threw a glass object at a peer's head.

A Children's Village student faces an assault charge in Dobbs Ferry following an August 17 arrest.

Police said they first received a complaint the evening of August 16 that two female students had gotten into a physical confrontation; no arrests were made at the time.

The following day, police responded to Children's Village at 10:53 a.m. and reported the same two females students, both 16-years-old, had gotten into another dispute.

One of the females reportedly threw a glass bowl at the other's head while in a common room, causing a laceration on the upper part of her ear.

The victim was taken to the village hospital for treatment, while her peer was arrested and charged with misdemeanor Assault in the Third Degree.

She was arraigned and released on her own recognizance and is due back in court tomorrow.

Note: Arrests do not indicate convictions.
